We LOVE to Eat

Just some notes on places we like to eat.

In Birmingham:

Saw's BBQ
Ruth's Chris (Our favorite!)
Oceans

In New York:
1. Morton"s Steak house on 45th and 5th order desert early!

2. We used to like Stages Deli but they closed after 75 years so Carnegie's Deli on 51 and 7th is close.

3. Our favorite grab a quick good breakfast is Majestic Deli on 50th and 7th

4. Kamil's and Beirut in Clifton, New Jersey.

5. It's Greek to Me, Either in Patterson or Hoboken

6. Illili- on 5th ave between 27th and 28th

7. We sometimes go to Hard Rock just for the fun of it.

8. Ellen's Stardust Diner is always fun but the food is average.

9. George and Sally's in Brooklyn.

10. And we just learned about a new Chinese restaurant in China Town called Wo Hop. Go downstairs! Chow Fon and won ton soup were good, Naji liked the Shrimp Fried Rice, and the soft shell crab special. 17 Mott Street.

New Orleans

• Patricia Shipley Emeril's. The blue tomato (get the tuna or the salmon). Cafe du monde, of course

  http://mahonyspoboys.com this place was featured on "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" where Emeril himself showed up and declared it the king of po boys. Try the Peacemaker po boy. 
  
  Amd of course: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Grocery this is the place that invented the muffuletta - you'll never find a better one. It's right off of Jackson's square. 
  
  One more tip: stay away from Pat Obriens. While they are famous for Hurricane drinks, they use their pre-made mix and it's not good. For a proper Hurricane visit this place at the end of Bourbon Streethttp://www.lafittesblacksmithshop.com/Homepage.html

  Stephanie Brown Vaughn If you go to Central Grocery make sure you dont go for a late lunch. Mom and I went once around 1:30 and we were the last two to get po-boys because they ran out of french bread!

  Ron Gull be sure to get some beignets and cafe au lait at Cafe du Monde... great for a morning after partying. of course, going to NOLA and visiting CdM is kind of a cliche, but it's a cliche because it's unique and wonderful.

  Tina R Lindsey Ok you are very close to Le Pavillon which is at the corner of Poydras and Baronne. Dickie Brennan's is on Iberville between Bourbon and Royal, just down from Acme Oyster House. Court of Two Sisters is on Royal between Toulouse and St. Peter. Also Mother's (great anything) is on Poydras at Tchopitoulas. Have fun!!!
